I’m back from a Question Time-style event at the City Inn hotel in Birmingham. It was chaired by Iain Dale, the publisher of Total Politics magazine, and on the panel were Marc Reeves, Jacqui Smith, Andrew Mitchell and John Hemming. Okay, it wasn’t as exciting as the BBC version I’m watching as I write, but it was fun, especially the question I asked about what buses the panel members would be catching to get home afterwards. šŸ™‚ Iain was his usual affable self – he’s a clever and charming chairman. It’s a shame that he can’t find a Conservative association brave enough to select him as their candidate, but he’s still doing a great job with his other pursuits.

With any luck I’ll have time soon to write up the notes I made on the answers to the various questions.
