A little bit of splittinitiness

In redistricting, Scotland on October 12, 2011 by dadge

Crikey. Here we are in England, daisy-chaining our way around the nation in a crazed attempt to avoid splitting any wards – and woe betide anyone who suggests that keeping communities together might be more important – while north of the border they’re resorting to the opposite extreme! As far as I can see they’ve split five wards just to make sure that (a) Edinburgh is reviewed on its own without adding wards from outside the city and (b) none of the seats is above the legal maximum of 80,473.

All the Scottish proposals are now online.
