2018 Review: Northumberland & Tyne

Entitlements:
Northumberland 3.11
Newcastle 2.41
North Tyneside 2.02
Gateshead 1.89
South Tyneside 1.54
Total 10.96 —–> 11 seats

North Tyneside can be dealt with on its own, leaving 9 seats for the rest of the area. The main question is what to do with Newcastle’s 0.41 of a seat. Some people prefer a Tyne Bridge seat but I think the most elegant solution is to have Newcastle-Ponteland and Hexham-Blaydon seats. South Shields is split, but the only sensible alternative is to split Jarrow instead, so I think the mapped proposal is tolerable.
