2018 Review: Central London

In News on July 14, 2016 by dadge Tagged:

Tower Hamlets 2.02 (2 seats)
Hackney 1.98 (2 seats)

City 0.08
Westminster 1.49
Camden 1.74
Islington 1.79
Haringey 1.89
Total 6.99 —> 7 seats

Alternative groupings are
(a) City, Westminster, Kensington, Hammersmith; and
(b) Islington, Camden, Haringey, Barnet;
but the entitlement of the latter group is 8.21, meaning that the seats are quite large and it’s difficult, especially around Finchley and Hendon, to make seats in quota, even by splitting wards.

Bethnal Green & Bow 76868
Poplar & Limehouse 74283
Hackney North 75318
Hackney South 73026
Cities of London & Westminster 74463
**North Westminster & West Hampstead 72233
**Hampstead & Camden Town 75029
Finsbury 74997
Islington North 77247
Hornsey & Wood Green 74275
Tottenham 74648

**If you don’t like splitting Hampstead, it’s possible to have (1) Hampstead and (2) Camden Town & North Westminster seats instead, but the latter would have Regent’s Park in the middle of it and an ill-defined boundary through Kentish Town.
